5/16/12 - With no races at NCMP this weekend, the track will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm for practice and rentals. Keep in mind that we do have corporate events that will close the track at times on Saturday and Sunday, times are above. Also kid karts will not practice on the big track this weekend but will run on the east track available in between rentals.
5/10/12 - Montgomery's Steakhouse (just south of the track's entrance on SR3) is offering 10% off any entree this Saturday for an early Mother's Day Special. You just have to show your pitpass arm band. Also Montgomery's is having a band "Southern Country" playing on their patio weather permitting.
5/7/12 - This weekend is a KRA Double Header with races on Saturday May 12th and Sunday May 13th. The online pre-entry form is up and going if you would like to preenter this weekends race online.
5/1/12 - With no races at NCMP this weekend, the track will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm for practice and rentals.
4/20/12 - The raceday schedule for KRA has been modified a little bit. You can download it here.
4/18/12 - We will run Motards on the East Track on Tuesday evenings this year. Motards will run from 3pm to 7pm. Cost for Motards is $30.
Also on Tuesday April 24th the main track will be unavailable all day for some necessary track repair. The East Track will be available until 3pm for rentals with Motards from 3pm to 7pm.
Sunday April 22nd is the third round of the 14 race KRA Series for 2012. The online pre-entry form is up and going if you would like to preenter the race online.
4/11/12 - Rental Karts will not be available on Saturday April 14th.
4/1/12 - KRA Race Postponed! Due to inclement weather track officials and competitors have decided to postpone today's KRA race (4/1) and reschedule the race for Saturday April 14th which will make that weekend a double header event.
3/26/12 - Racing season is here! This Sunday April 1st is the first round of the 14 race KRA Series for 2012. The online pre-entry form is up and going if you would like to preenter this weekends race online.
3/13/12 - UPDATE! Thanks to the spectacular weather we are having we have decided to open NCMP a day early! NCMP will officially open on Friday March 16th at 10am!
Once the track opens, NCMP will be open Tuesdays-Sundays from 10am to 7pm, closed on Mondays. Please see the hours page for additional information.
3/9/12 - NCMP will begin the 2012 karting season when we open for practice on Saturday March 17th!
As a reminder, you must have a Snell 2005 or newer helmet to practice at NCMP or to race KRA in 2012. Our insurance provider was nice enough to allow Snell 2000 helmets last year during the transition but everyone will be required to update to a Snell 2005 or newer helmet for 2012.
2/8/12 - Schedule Update, NCMP will host the SKUSA Midwest Pro Kart Challenge August 18-19.
2/2/12 - The 2012 KRA Membership form is now available online.
2/1/12 - Due to safety concerns, KRA will require all Clone engines to use the ARC billet aluminum flywheel. This will be the only flywheel allowed. There have been instances where the stock steel Clone flywheel have literally come apart and parts flying out. This is not a risk worth taking for competitors or spectators. The flywheel will not be included if a competitor choses to claim an engine.
1/19/12 - We have posted the tentative 2012 NCMP and KRA schedule. Please keep in mind that the schedule could change before the start of the season.
1/9/12 - The IAME X-30 engine is not legal for KRA until it is tested against the current Leopard engines to determine it's performance level. At NCMP, KRA will make every effort to protect the investment that competitors have already made with the current Leopard engines. The engine comparison testing will not take place any sooner than April of 2012.
1/6/12 - The TaG Heavy class and Spec TaG will be combined at KRA this year. They will be scored separate but will qualify and race on track at the same time.
1/4/12 - For the 2012 season KRA will be switching to YLC tires for all TaG classes and shifter.
KRA will be adding a second clone class for the 2012 season. The rules for the class will be as follows -
Tires - 450x5 front, 710x5 rear YLC
Seat - Must use sprint style kart seat
Bodywork - Must use any CIK approved european style bodywork. Rear plastic bumper is optional
Weight - 365 lbs
The current clone class will remain the same with NO changes. The new class will be called Clone CIK to differentiate it from the current clone class.
